Finishing up the general stuff!! Part 2/2 (8 Mar 2008)

It was a lazy sat morning, Charlie and I was suppose to meet up with Andrew so we could touch up our falcons. Charlie was suppose to meet up with Andrew at 10am but looks like he got problem getting up haha. In the end we all reached around 1pm and Andrew was like :/

Looking for the best spot with water supply, and was happily removing my fairins when a loud horn came from behind, we were in the way of the stupid dust bin truck that has a friendly froggie smile painted on the side.

Nmind about that, I was rather positive and wont let any small obstacles get in my way, I had to finish the rest of the stuff today!!

Charlie wants his speed bleeders in and honey comb out. I want my honey comb out and water wetter in and maybe re-bleed my brake system. Andrew only want his sponge on the air filter, later Charlie also want. U want, I want, he also want, everybody also want.

The best spot! Got kerb to sit, got space to do bike, got water near by.

But dustbin truck wants the space too!!

Charlie was in a horrible state. Red watery eyes, drooling nostrils, watery mouth. I think he got rabies. When i saw him sucking a lightless cig , i realise it was a white stick with some chemical inside, he was on drugs!!!! hehehe.

We did our stuff seriously and quietly... except every now and then,
someone would burst out sneezing.
HHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooo

Andrew assisting Charlie with his calipers nipple replacement.

I was ready to flush my radiator.

The easiest way to let the coolant out was to open up the hose at the bottom and let it drain. Removing the coolant container, i had a hard time flushing out the sticky chemical sticking on the surface inside the container.

I had plenty of distill water at Andrew's, almost 15 liters. I wanted to flush the system with distill water. But the design seems impossible to do so. Unless there is pressure to force distill water into all angles of the system. In the end, i used tap water with a hose and some pressure to flush the system for 5 minutes.

Draining out the coolant

Water wetter, getting the right amount.

Premixed with demineralize/distill water.
3 Liters for busa.

There is only 1 honey comb structure in the mid pipe on the right exhaust. Had to remove the mid pipe to knock it out silly. I heard it was quite easy, simply find a hard rod, place in the center of the honey comb and know it silly hard and it should pop out. Balls its not!

The structure is harder then I tot. The easiest way is to drill 5-6 holes on the outer circular edge of the circle and knock it out. The alternative is to use a Phillip head(cross) screw driver and knock 5-6 holes on the outer circular area to weaken it and knock the on the center and hope it comes out.

Following this theory, even before completing the circular weakening holes, it was out when half done!

The inside of busa's exhaust.

Honey comb structure. The small twig sticking out is a sensor.

It looks kinda weak and brittle, but the real thing is damn bloody strong when it was in place.
The blood stain on the rag? Dont tell u!! :zonked:

Now its hollow, better air flow.

Now, its Charlie's turn, following the same theory, he knock his fingers a few time with the hammer keke. STUUPPIIIDDDD BOY!!!

Damn bloody serious!

Cool without the pipe right!!
Took a pic while waiting for Charlie's hammer. So slow sia!

The other honey comb structure where its easily access was at the bottom of the extractor. That was on the left side. It wasn't as deep as the right mid pipe. It came out only a few knocks using the same theory. The negative part is, the honey comb might break off and stuck inside. Start the engine and blow a few time, if it comes out, good! Else put back the exhaust, ride ur bike until 1 day u can hear the honey comb jingling at the mid pipe hehe.

Honey comb. So nice n beautiful!

Now its gone! Was knocked out silly! Mine got stuck but came
out when I blow the engine a few time.
Too bad for charlie, his was jingling all the way home hehe!!

When I mount back everything and start my engine to make sure everything was alright. The FI light appear and kept blinking, turning off the engine to check if i forgotten to plug back any plugs. Nothing was unplugged. But the damn FI light keep coming out. Almost gettign desprate that the FI had gone faulty, I looked into Andrew's set of servicing manual and realise a sensor was not detected and so the FI light blink every 2 seconds.

Did a final check and saw the sensor on my mid pipe was broken. OMG I must have knocked it silly!!

Broken sensor!!

Directly under the bike collecting layers of oil and dust. I had to scrap it off and clean it.

Took a spare sensor from Andrew and everything was back to normal. But the time I had everything done up, Charlie and Andrew had new sponge for their air filter. It was 8pm then and we decided to call it a day!

Thanks Everyone!
