My lucky Scottoiler

MotoWorld @ Kaki Bukit

Scottoiler Universal Kit $185 (150)

Almost everyweek without fail, I will bring down a car jack(given by Stanley) and a bag of lubricants, walked to my bike in the multi-S carpark, Jacked up my bike's rear wheel, roll the wheels while i clean the chain and lubricate them. Thats no joke man...... for an old man like me.

I was hunting around for Scottoiler when a friend came for ICT almost sold me at $50 for a 2 yr old Scottoiler, good deal rite.... In the end he didnt, he wanted to sell me in the first place coz his company is suppose to send him overseas for a few years, but in the end didnt, so no only he didnt get to go overseas , i didnt get my $50 scottoiler too :(

Next, I started browsing around the net and forum for cheaper used oiler, the cheapest I've found is $100, thinking its too ex for a 2nd hand item, decided to check out at MotoWorld myself.

Was at MotoWorld after work today to check out the Scottoiler, happen to meet a very flexible and nice staff who didnt mind selling it to me at $150, wow didnt know such a nice guy exist. I wont go into detail the process how i got it at $150, but its brandnew from the shelf with plastic still wraping tight and a price tag sticker on the box.

I believe only a handful will get it at $150, and i bet i'm one of the lucky ones, this must be my special day!!

Opened up the box and checked everything is in place, well items are tally with the check list. Now its a matter of time be4 I install my Scottoiler.

Throttle Valve Sync. with balls.

Bike Factor @ Ubi Industrial ($30)
Mileage approx 96,000 km

Throttle Valve synchronization also known as throttle body balancing is to be sync every 12,000 km according to Suzuki's Busa Servicing Manual.

This is a simple process to make sure the valves are in sync among the cylinders.
The steps are:
to make sure the engine is warm up first,
life up the tank,
remove the IAT sensors from the air filter box,
remove IAP sensor mounting screw,
remove the air filter box,
disconnect some of the vacuum hose and connect them to the Vacuum balancer gauge,
Sync the gauge's balls with 1 vacuum hose to a mark,
then start the process of synchronizing the valve with the gauge by adjusting the air screw and throttling the valve, most of the time looking at the balls.

Thats more or less the entire procedure, another process to take note, request the mechanic to wash the throttle body, but will have to throw in another $80-90 and its a 2-4 hrs process.

While watching the entire process, the funny thing is, I've saw and extra vacuum nipple with a rubber stopper sticking out of the throttle body, its not in use right now and just wondering if i could use it for a Scottoiler kit ;)

EDITED: Throttle Body Sync should include the Fuel injector adjustment.

Genting with SBF 11-12 Aug 07

My Exams are finally over, and now i got more time to write up this Genting Trip... here goes

During the last Malacca trip with Sbf busa, they were planning for a Genting trip, and here we are. A short trip to Genting from 11 aug 3am to 12 aug approx. 10pm.

The 9 riders and their 5 baggage:
Jason & Jean - Busa
Raymond & Kris - Busa
Maverik & Joey - Busa
Glen & Tiff - FJR
Mark & Vanessa - Gsx600
Weiz - Busa
Denson - Busa
Eric - Busa
Rebecca - Busa

The busa riders gathered at Tiong Bee road for their weekly meet up, had some light suppers and ready to move off to GP Esso at 2am. At GP Esso, everyone got their bike ready for the long ride while others chats and wait for the late comers.

Finally set off at 3am to Pagoh for a break. We kept our sitting position for the whole 150+ km till we had to wriggle our wrist and leg to cure off the numbness. Everyone got themselves a quick pee, drink, washed up, filled up their falcons (some falcons) and prepare for another 100+ km towards Seremban.

Riding in the night is a very nice feeling especially when there aren't much vehicle in the same road. The NSHW from Kulai to Malacca is rather quiet and not much of coners where class 2 riders love as they could push their machine marking from 160-260km/hrs with comfort as they enjoy the cool enviroment and the quiet night. However one must know the risk of riding fast at NSHW.

We crossed the Seremban tol approx. 6am head to Petronas to feed our falcons again, and took our first Malaysia breakfast at MacDonald's. The thing about this Pertonas and Mac is very convenient as Mac and petrol station is just side by side. My fav. Petrol Station in Mysia is Petronas too ;)

Our Route from GP Esso to Seremban Mac.

After our Breakfast, the sky started to break for dawn. We woke the Falcon for their final flight of the day to Genting. Rode off Seremban and hit the streets, here tall building appearing left and right while slowly, vehicles from 2-wheelers to 16- wheelers shared the lanes.

Exited at the Sign Genting Highlands, the lanes started to open wider while the corners started to bend more. Yep, we are at the base of Genting. This is the place riders love most as they could counter each and every corners to their heart content from the bottom to the very top of Genting. Feewwwweeeehhh...... What a challenging winding route.

Our group of 9 riders booked 2 separate hotels, we parted at the other group's( i call it weiz's group) apartment coz they could get their rooms pretty early, unlike ours' (Ray's group), had to wait till 2-3 pm.

At the base of Wiez's hotel, see me securing my falcon while Jean keep taking photo of herself, I cant blame her, she's very excited!! haha, this' one trip she's been waiting for.

From Gp Esso to Genting, 390++ Km...

Everyone got tired since we didn't had any rest since 2am. All decided to rest in Weiz's apartment. (Thanks Weiz's Group for lending us a resting place haha). Jean and I prepared ourselves abit and took an early nap too, managed to doze off for 20 mins and had trouble sleeping as as an Orchestra appeared out of no were.... The falcon's very own Orchestra!!!

Orchestra's performers ~From top right to bottom left clockwise: (Myself and Jean, Raymond and Kris, Glen and Tiff, Mark and Vanessa, opps! Mav and Joey were hiding somewhere).

We left the performances half way as we couldn't keep up with the tempo, Went down to the cafe to had some bites, Mav & Joey appeared too as they couldn't keep up with the tempo too, they said the tempo got pretty complicated lol. Here Mav, Joey, Jean and myself had a nice time eating and chatting with one another. Its great as we will be sharing rooms too later at night, looks like none of us are good performer, I Hope!??

After our long chat, we went up again to see if the Orchestra had ended, We'll the tempo is slowly going off already, nice. Soon everyone woke up and got ready to take out long walk up the the First World hotel to book into our rooms. Ray was nice to wait for our number, so we head to Starbucks to refresh ourselves with drinks.

See Jean, getting excited again and doing stupid things.... Spot them yourself.

Numbers called and checked into our rooms, Mav and me hold a card each to our shared room so its much easier to gain entry. We headed down together for some bites again and shopping.... Wrong move every trip, once the girls go shopping, they cannot stop ! :X Well, let them be lah, since its 50% all over in genting every weekends!

Jean and Joey digging desperately for discounted clothing's~~

Mav & Joey and us split for our own shopping but somehow meet again as we rest to have some small bites. Yep, one of jean's favorite, Doughnuts !!

Jean got crazy over the doughnut, but it really taste good!!

After browsing a few stores, we walked into our Favorite Bum City! The shops not only sell Bum clothings but many others too, accessories, bags, hats/caps and many more~~ In the end we spent RM$270+ in Bum city haha. Well' we didn't only bought ours but since Stan lent us his saddle bags, we could buy more stuff including theirs too :)

Mine and Jeans's Stuff~~ Yes YEs Bum bum Bum bUm buM!!

Stan, angela, Carine and Alan's Stuff~~~

After choosing and buying so much~ We went back to our rooms to put the stuff there, and took another napfor more energy later. It was close to 9pm, time to meet the guys for dinner, everyone decide on the Hainan Kitchen where Jean and I ordered Western food ...?!?!?!? Hainan rest. selling western ?? lol

Our Dinner~~ Yummy!!

Before this Genting trip, Jean and I had been planning to catch a show at Genting, we browse the net and saw that Rush Hour 3 will be showing.

After dinner, Jean and I went to the ticketing booth to buy the tics for 11pm, somehow the ticketing booth is closed and the operator inside packing her stuff said no more tics. Jean and I argued for a while that is not even 1040pm yet but they just refuse to open to sell us the tics. So pissed off with the Standard in Genting.

@#%#$@%@^%^ Rush Hour 3 Ticking booth Operator #$#$^%^%^%^%

We really had nothing left to do since the show is out for us. We've been to Genting twice before and this is the third time we are here, we decided to explore the places that we've been to before and see if we could find something to entertain ourselves. The others ? Trying their luck with $$$ elsewhere haha.

We walked up and down left and rigth, to and fro and got excited over the places and stuff we used to go and did together. Jean got excited again and wanted to sit on the Peony that she seen be4 the last time, while i got my own ride on a 1st prize too haha.

The Peony and my first prize

Next, we came to some rows of "cheat small kid machines", I told jean this machines only interest small kid and cheat their money, suddenly Jean disappeared and reappear beside the "Cheat small kid (Mickey Mouse) machine"!!!??? "cheat small kid? OMG, while taking a Pic for her, I too got distracted by something haha.

Jean's Mickey and my Distraction!

The other fun stuff was some kids' Ride, looking at the Squid Ride, she ran over and climb on top showing me a squid face, there i quickly took a snap of her "Squid face" before she change her mind haha. Then she being unsatisfy, forced me to do something stupid too.... Poor me...

Stupid moves....

Funs' over and we took a stroll else where, then we came across a stall that caught out attention, its the long long hot dog stall "1901" We ordered a Hot Doggy's out of excitement and stuff our tummy with more food once again.

New York Hot Dog~~ Yummy!!

We walked on somemore and saw some big big noodles, too full to stuff anymore food in, we snaps pics on how desperate we are on trying the noodles.....

So Yummy, so hard to reach~~

Finally, Jean is satisfy and we retire for the night, there we tot 4 of us were not performers, but that prove Jean wrong, that night again she couldn't catch much sleep, coz Mav and I were holding out mini orchestra hahaa....... Too bad... girls can't snore well..

Very next morning, our rooms were entitle 2 breakfast, none of use could drag ourselves for the free breakfast, sleep is more important for us guys "concentration on riding", but girls ? "their last shopping" 4 of us had our breakfast at the Mee shop, never did we know that those balack shop chop us without us knowing... We paid almost RM$100 for 4 simple dish.... God!

Branch wasn't enjoyable, slowly we head back to weiz's apartment, on the way, i spotted a fellow falcon, well he didnt talked to me coz he is being displayed on some glass shelf, so i took a photo of him and left to regroup with the 9s.

Our Fellow Falcon, Transform!!

On the way down to Weiz's. Nice cooling wind~

At Weiz's, I quickly got myself ready so i could have more time properly securing the bags to my bike, but didnt think others took a longer time. Well, I like to be prepared early so i wont delay anyone's time.

At Weiz's our 9 bikes all parked in 1 stright line. All getting ready to move off.

From Genting , Denson took us to a nearby Mushroom farm just behind the apartment. Wow didnt know there is a Mushroom farm nearby, the food looks good and the mushroom breading place looks interesting too, here we see many different breed of srooms. Jean and I had another great and interesting time.

The Srooms farm, food and breading place.

Once the adventure of the sroom farm is over, we drag ourselves to our bike so they could take us home, it was another challenge down Genting. Stopped at a nearby petrol station for some fuel before heading towards Ayer Kerok for some bites of A & W, then to Pagoh for the break and fuel before heading towards GP.

At GP everyone had a longer rest coz its our last gathering ground before we split for the end of Genting trip. We chatted for a while, had some drinks, pee, poo, rested till our tired body could drag us one last time back to our home sweet home.

From Seremban to Pagoh to GP Shell, here we ended our farewells with ride safe and good nights and to meet up again for the next busa gathering.

Thanks guys for the wonderful Genting ride and entertainment.

Why my wheel got some *tok *tok sound ??

Bike 123 @ Jln Basar Workmanship $30
Planet Motor @ Ubi Industrial Workmanship $15
K S Suzuki @ Jln Basar
SLS Bearings @ Jln Basar
Mileage 94,700km

Stock front Spocket $65
1 Set of bearings $24
1 Can of Green tea $1.20
1 Packet of tissue $0.30

After my 2nd Malacca Trip with MBF, the following chain oiling. I heard loud *tok *tok sound coming from the lower part of bike when I spin the rear wheel. Thinking it could be my bearing wearing out. Beginning of this year, I only had my front wheel bearing replaced, I didnt replace the rear wheel bearing.

I went to 2 bike shops and they only suspect its the bearings, coz i told them i had replaced both my sprockets and chain early this year. I proceed to have my rear wheel bearing change as that is the most obvious choice. I didnt change it since i bought over this bike hahaha.

I wanted to look for a different set of bearing from stock, I was introduced with High Speed Dual seal and Heavy Duty Dual seal bearings. I ask my bike shop to remove my bearings and replace with the ones i bought from bearing shop.

Old Stock Bearings, single seal. (Stock, Assuming the owner didnt change)

Old Stock Single Seal Sprocket bearing KOYO 62/32RS

Old Stock Single Seal Wheel bearing KOYO 60/32RKBC3

New Dual Seal KOYO Bearings, Sprocket 62/32RS, Wheel 60/322RS

Once the Bearing sits in and wheel installed, *tok *tok sound echos into my ears..... Then the mechanic told me, well u could try the front sprocket, but no promises. Coz front sprockets spin almost 5 times more than the rear on average.

Well, what could I think of ? Nothing but to proceed to buy my own stock Front sprocket, and bring to another bike shop to have it replace. Once my front sprocket is reveal bared to me. OMG Look at the mess, and from the mess guess what I've found ? A fuel tank rubber stopper and another round rubber and puddles of "sai".

I suspect its the fuel tank rubber that i've accidentally dropped while lifting my tank and find its way to the front sprocket and creating those *tok *tok noise........ All my effort , time and $$$ gone to waste.... But well not so bad lah, coz i've learnt a few more new things and location of some shops.

New sprocket, looks good and new.... Ready to sit into its place.

Old Sprocket, doesnt look so different from new doesn't it? Coz its still new!! :~~~ just 6 mths old!

All the messy oily sandy dirty rubbish and "sai" trapped in this area, who would remove this and give it a good wash ?

See this thing stuck here, where its very close to my chain ? That is the culprit thats making the *tok *tok sound when i wasn't looking.... My Fuel Tank Rubber stopper.

At least in the End i got my problem solved!

Best Fuel Consumption

I always wanted to find out how good is my FC if i could travel almost non-stop for a distant.
Today, just after meeting the SBF and went in to pump and eat with MBF, I guess i would use this chance to test my FC since its about 50km all they way back to AMK from Petronas.

FC from GP Petronas to AMK with 60-80km/h almost non-stop.

Whooo, i couldn't believe what i saw, almost non stop and tarveling around 60-80km/h all the way back to AMK from GP Petronas. The FC could hit so much as 24.1km/liters. But who would want to travel at that speed everyday hahaha

Busa gather and MBF outing

I meet up with busa guys for my 8th turn up. Tonight, not much people came, i could only guess that its because since John's PC is down, he didnt post the outing in the forum for all to aware there is 1. But from what I've heard around, if there is no post, means 9pm at Lavender Food court.

Busa Gathering, we always park at the building, heng bo tio ticket haha!!

I was suppose to meet Andrew and Vincent here so we could move off to another gathering with the MBF later at 11pm, Andrew didnt come but he sms to tell me that his lesson ended late and so he want to go give the lavender meting a miss but continue to meet up with the MBF. Vincent however didnt call nor did he sms, I was alittle worried that something might have happen to him that he didnt contact to tell me his decision wheather to come or not. Only today, i've recieve his sms saying he is sorry that he was patting his kids to sleep and doze off in the process, wow nice fatherly love haha. He is forgiven then.

I wanted to leave at 1050pm but suddenly Jean picked up a good conversation with Raymond's GF Kris and Glenn's GF Tiff, and soon she forgot about the time we were suppose to move off... chat ...chat ...chat until i tell her we are late!

CTE was very jam, and i got a little impatient and squeezed in b/e lanes for a while, after AMK was clear all the way to Tuas.

RosLee Malay stall, selling Ramli burger and some small eats...
Ohh they have alot of fancyful drinks too!!

Meet MBF Vincent. Andrew and ah Seng Super4000. Together 5 bikes, 5 rider and 1 kaypo tagged along to GP Town Malay stall carpark to have some small eats and chats. However the chat also got go too long and we left for GP Petronas and back to SG around 2 am.

Jean having her Mee soup and me with my Ramli half chicken burger. Half coz i think its small and not up to standard!

Andrew, Vincent, Cavin and Ah Seng having they satays and burger meals!!

All class 2 in this outing, ohh ah seng super4 is 4000cc, so it is also class 2 haha.

Engine oil change with Charlie and Mech : Andrew.

Andew apt void deck @ CCK on 01 Aug 2007
Mileage 94,315 km

Last Sun night, I wanted to change my EO that i've bought earlier in the noon. Unfortunately i couldn't open the Engine oil drain nut with standard tools, the 17mm open end/spannar.So I call Andrew and realise that he has the 17mm socket and long handle ratchet, so I've decided to change my EO at Andrew's place along with Charlie!!

Wed night after lesson, I brought along my 3 bottle of Esso Gold EO and Andrew's present, his 5 liter bottle of Distill/demineralized water. That is for him to flush his radiator and to mix "water wetter" coolant. Imagine carrying additional 8 KG . NO JOKE MAN!!

I reached Andrew's place at 7:30pm. Open my EO drain nut for the first time, opps... careless and spilled some on the tarmac before i could shift the container underneath hehehee. After pouring in fresh new EO into my engine, I assist Andrew to pull out his muffler from his Yoshi. Wow Andrew can really Jerk his muffler out hehehehe.

Later, Charlie came at 8:45pm. he was not only panting but seems busy on the phone and seems to be in a rush and didn't change EO be4 too. So I "KAYPO" and offer to open his HOT NUT, this time i was more pro, I let the used oil out just when i shift the container below, no spillage haha, ohhh SHIITTTTTT. The EO drain nut dropped into the container along with flowing of used VERY hot oil........ Stupidboy......

Nmind, after a while, i took a plastic bag and used it as a glove to reached into the container for Charlie's NUT... left right hot! hot! left right hot! hot! ... ahh there! Damn, Charlie's NUT is so small i almost couldn't find it, lol

With Charlie's and Mine Oil freshly replaced. We were soon off to ~home ~sweet ~home

So wats with Andrew the Mechanic? He offer his tools and equipments loh... Kaypo!! hehehehe

How LAB Persuade me into buying his Esso EO

LAB @ kelantan lane

3 bottle of Fully Sunthetic Esso Gold 4T 10W-40 $54 ($48)

Its about time i should have my Engine oil, thought its not time to change yet according to mileage, but after going to 1 track session, 2 melaka trips. Plus going to genting next week. (11 aug) Its way over due!!

Persuaded by Ah boy.... shouldn't have step into his shop..... cannot resist his price!!

I was looking for Fully S. 15W-50, Motul, Maxima or Fuch silkolene are ok. Was thinking I could buy them cheaper at Regina or LAB coz local bike shop are selling from $22-$25.

Went to Regina last weekend and Regina told he to look for LAB, they should have stock. Ah boy told me he didnt order, why not buy his current stock or plutoline, castrol or Esso. I was thinking these oil are lower quality even if hey are fully syn. and 10W40 grade. After showing a displeased face, i turned and walked out of Ah boy's shop.

Suddenly Ah boy called out to me, said he could charge me cheaper, his oil are very good. I told him I only want Motul, Maxima or Fuch. He insisted that "ang mo" brand are not for our local region and his stock are so good, that when i start using them, i will find "ang mo" brand lousy.

Knowing ah boy is trying to "haigong" me into clearing his stock, I tested him by saying i only got $30 , dont want to buy. The next thing he say to me, immediately changed my view from looking at things from the correct sensible way to "typical niao singaporean" way....... Ah boy said , just take out all the $$$ u got n show me, i took out 30++ and he said take out a bit more a bit more. The next thing he say to sell me all 3 bottle of Esso Gold for $16 each, just follow his man to Regina and pay the difference by nets...

That night i reached home, i knew that i made the wrong decision of buying his product of a lower quality and grade oil. But then again, I still benefit from there because i turned "on" my "niao"mode (stingy mode). Wats done cannot be undone, I just need do my next EO change earlier thats all.
