- uses single valve springs
- new hydraulic chain tensioner
- lighter pistons with 2mm over bore, 42cc more
- pistons compression 12.5 vs 11.0
- stronger conrods
- stronger crankshaft
- heavier clutch
- final drive 18/43
- smaller throttle bodies 44mm
- GSXR1000 type injectors
- GSXR1000 type air cleaner
- larger oil cooler
- dual cooling fans
- power select SDMS system same as GSXR1000
- engine size and weight same same
- power increased "roughly" 10%
- on wheel expected to crunch more than 175bhp vs 162bhp
- chassis upgraded from old model
- reworked subframe
- little heavier than old model
- overall length is two inches longer
- windscreen taller by one inch
- front suspension more firmer settings
- radially mounted calipers
- floating rotors 10mm smaller
- steerling damper with external reservoir
